M is off to the wilds of Iowa. There was a packing crisis, as usual, because he can't be bothered to pack until the morning he leaves, and his duffel bag has one strap hanging by literal threads, which we could have fixed if he'd, I don't know, started packing sooner. -_- Ah, well. He's out the door and on his way, and I already miss his dumb butt.

We had an unexpectedly fun night last night in which I wanted home-style cooking, so we went to Cracker Barrel to order take-home food. It took 20 minutes to prepare, so we bought some vintage sodas (he got Moxie and I got Cheerwine) and some old-fashioned candy, and just hung out in the car while we waited. It was nice.

I found a fabric that's a dead ringer for the original gown fabric of my sister's dress, and she was just as excited as I was to find it, so I ordered as much as I could, which turned out to be 7 yards.  It's 58" wide, so hopefully I'll be able to squeeze the entire dress out of what I have, but it's going to be tight. Of course she chose a dress with a tiered flounced sleeves with a billion flounces. XP The hunt for trim is next.

Going to try and finish editing tonight and get the velvet dress video crossed off the list. Crinoline rehab tomorrow, as well as fabric paint experiments for the wrapper. If the crinoline rehab goes quickly, then I'll start the exercise dress. Fingers crossed.
