Unexpectedly busy weekend. Saturday I finally finished the rest of the dish mountain in the kitchen and gave the entire room a good scrub. The rest of the day was mostly spent enjoying the weather - it was cool and rainy the entire day, so I opened all the curtains, lit some candles, and soaked in the ambience.
While I didn't manage to actually stitch anything, I did actually manage to prep the second half of the stays, marking out where the boning channels were going to be and getting everything pinned correctly, so that's something! I lost a lot of time because all my tape measures had vanished into the ether after I had tidied up the living room and put everything away "in its right place", which of course meant nothing was where I expected it to be.
Sunday M finally did the chores I've been asking him to do for weeks now, namely doing laundry and doing a big run to Sam's to stock up on bulk items. I spent the morning putting away the clean dishes and getting the kitchen prepped for portioning out all the stuff he brought back, and then spent a good chunk of the afternoon doing just that. The freezer is finally full again - 8 lbs of chicken breasts, 8 lbs of thighs, 8 lbs of chuck roast, 8 lbs of London broils, 10 lbs of ground beef, 12 lbs of Italian sausage, 4 large NY strip steaks, 3 lbs of breakfast sausage, and 8 lbs of bacon. We should not need to shop again for quite some time. We kept the tri-tip roast out of the freezer and will have it for dinner tonight.
The rest of the afternoon I folded and sorted through the baby's laundry. Most of what had been cleaned is now too small, so it has been put away. I ordered some new things for her off Amazon since I discovered that we do not have that much 6mo clothing, and absolutely no 9mo stuff, and it arrived before the end of the day. I will likely order more sometime this week since we have to change her so often.
Queen Elizabeth's Wardrobe Unlock'd has arrived at the local sorting facility, and so should be in my hands sometime this week. I am excited! I've wanted this book for a long time. Elizabethan Stitches is also marked as "shipped" but has no tracking number, so I have no idea where it is, but hopefully it will also arrive soon. I am trying to control myself and not order more books but...I want more books.
