Was searching through Wiener Modespiegel trying to find the inspiration plate for the ruffle monster, and came across something surprising. Y'all remember bubble skirts? The 1850s did it first.
I found a BUNCH of plates with bubble skirts. I find it mildly hilarious. I love how unhinged the 1850s fashion can be.
