(no subject)

Did a quick pickup during my lunch break on Friday to get cat food. The poor creatures swarmed me as soon as I walked in the door, and I took the baby into one of the bedrooms for a change while they got free reign of the newly filled bowl.

M requested Cajun chicken pasta for dinner, which made my night easier since I didn't have to doom scroll Pinterest wondering what I was going to cook.

Went to bed entirely too late, and then the baby was up at her normal time of 8AM, so I was very sleepy all of Saturday. Thankfully, she had a pretty good day, so things were fairly easy, and we had leftover pasta for dinner, so no cooking, either.

Sunday was another pretty chill day. The baby was in good spirits most of the day. We took a walk just after breakfast, when most of the complex was quiet and empty because everyone was at church or something, so she had the run of the place. She ran all the way to the other side of the complex and halfway back before she ran out of steam and had to be carried back. She napped very easily after a snack and some water, so big long walks for the win.

Dinner was Chinese style honey garlic chicken, which didn't turn out as well as the first time. I put it down to having doubled the recipe and it losing something in that, and probably putting too much soy sauce in the marinade. There's a ton of it left over for tonight, so at least dinner is taken care of and I don't have to worry about it.

We had an unexpected, raging storm in the evening, and we had quite a river of water gushing past our portion of the complex before it was over. We were lucky, though, because people all around us were getting egg to baseball sized hail, and we just had a lot of water. There's a chance of more rain every day this week, which will at least keep us out of the 90s.

M spent a good chunk of Sunday out at the range, coming home just before the storm hit, and occupied the rest of his evening with cleaning his guns after he got home. That project lasted well into the evening, and after putting the baby to bed in our bedroom, I fell asleep on the couch waiting for him to finish up. Finally got to bed around 11pm, which is waaaay too late for me these days, so I struggled to get up on time this morning.

The only chore I managed this morning was to clean the cat boxes, which was interrupted because the baby woke up at 7. I finished up and then got her out of bed, had some snuggles, changed her, and then fed her breakfast while I got dressed for work and woke up M to take over baby duties.

Didn't manage to finish the dishes this weekend, and now there are even more of them. *grumble* I will attempt to get to bed early tonight so I can get up early tomorrow and finish them off. Need to iron a few dresses for work this week, too, so I'm aiming for a 5AM wakeup time, which is painful to even type out.

OB checkup on Wednesday, so I'm taking a half-day from work since it's in the early afternoon. Will hopefully get some things done that afternoon since the checkup should be fairly quick.

Got official confirmation that our apartment complex has been sold again. That is four times we've been sold since we started living here three years ago. New ownership is taking over this week, which hopefully means they'll be trying to make a good impression while they're new and shiny and things might actually get done. Yes, that is a very optimistic sentence.
