A Pain in my...

About two weeks ago, I went to visit my sister while she was recovering from her surgery (she broke her leg falling off a horse), and I ate some fried chicken she had leftover in the fridge. I had some pretty bad stomach pains that night and figured it was the chicken. I've had a mild ache in my stomach ever since, but it was ignore-able. Weirdly, I would be fine most of the day, but after eating dinner it would suddenly get really bad.

Well, yesterday it suddenly became a very familiar sort of pain. A few years ago, I had basically this same thing happen, and I ended up getting diagnosed with diverticulitis. This pain is in the same place, it feels the same, so I feel like it's probably the same thing.

I've been trying since yesterday to find a GI doctor around here that is accepting new patients and that has an appointment open that isn't two weeks away. My parents never really took us to the doctor when I was a kid, and they NEVER took me to one as a teen, so I don't have a primary that I might have been transitioned or referred to. Anytime something comes up I usually just head to the neighborhood clinic, but last time this happened it was beyond their ability to treat.

So, I have an appointment for Wednesday with a new GI doc that has their office in the medical district close to work. I know nothing about him other than he's a GI doctor, and he isn't making me wait half a month to see him. So, we'll see.

Man, every time I call a specialist its a minimum 6 week wait. I hope it resolves quickly.
