Had my first OB appointment yesterday. He's a nice soft-spoken older man whose office is full of Star Wars figures and Star Trek magazines. He wore a Mandalorian tie, which I complimented him on.

Surprise, I'm further along than my PCP thought, I'm actually at 11 weeks now. The adjusted due date is around Thanksgiving, so I am having a turkey. Ultrasound is starting to look baby-shaped and less blob-like. Despite the turkey getting bigger, I'm still about 5lbs lower than my pre-pregnancy weight. Despite that, he said my numbers looked good and he didn't think I'd need to go to a high-risk OB, which is good news. My liver enzymes look good for the first time in years, which was exciting. They did a pap smear since I haven't had one in years and sent me across the street to get my blood drawn for more lab work, and that was that.

Paid for the entirety of the pregnancy care up front, which was a hefty chunk of change even with insurance (nearly $1k out of pocket), but it's all done and paid for and I don't have to think about it again. The hospital and all that will be extra, naturally, because of course, but that was expected. At least I should hit my yearly out-of-pocket maximum this year, so hopefully insurance will cover the majority of it.

Took the time this morning to make my lunch so I would hopefully have plenty to eat today - apple slices, baby carrots, blueberries and strawberries, and a turkey-provalone-pesto sandwich. The kitchen at work also has oranges to snack on, so I should be covered, but honestly, I wish I'd made two sandwiches because I've already eat half my lunchbox and it's not even 11.
