Mar. 13th, 2024 08:27 amThe Walmart app was screwing up yesterday, so I had to go in-person and do grocery shopping like in the dark ages. Woe! Stayed pretty much on task and didn't buy too much that I hadn't intended on, just threw in a couple of frozen pizzas for lazy nights and some frozen veggies that I can eat as sides when we do roasts. We plan to do a big CostCo/Sam's trip to stock up on stuff, so I didn't buy too much, but I had to get some meat for the week. The freezer hadn't been that empty...ever? We only had a bag of alligator nuggets, some frozen wontons, and a corned beef roast, and that was it.
Also made a stop at the big Joann's that's on the other side of town, thinking that I'd find that nicer quality linen again that I used for my partlet and coif last time, but alas, they did not have it. Almost everything was a blend or "linen look" or was really slubby/course. I will try the store closer to the house to see if it's there, but if not, then I'm going to have to order something, which I was hoping to avoid. Harrumph.
M finally cooked a meal last night, a London broil with a side of mashed potatoes. He did a good job of it, too, everything was very tasty. We finally had a free evening to watch TV together again since he didn't have to work late for once, so we did another episode of the Sopranos which we started rewatching a thousand years ago and had to stop because of the birth. We're only a handful of episodes from the series end at this point, so we may be able to wrap the series this week.
The time change has screwed up the baby's overnight feeding schedule, and she is now wide awake either right when we're trying to go to bed, or a couple of hours before my alarm goes off. She's also reached the pterodactyl phase, where she just screeches whenever she's happy. And she's very happy. The only remedy is to roll her up in her blanket like a burrito.
