Jan. 14th, 2025 09:15 amMy local Walmart must be incredibly short staffed, because last night was the second time I've had to walk inside and ask for my pickup items after waiting for an absurd amount of time in line. They always seem rather happy to hand it over since it gets that task off their plate.
The baby had been horrible all day, but I came home with the magic Motrin, and once her teeth were no longer in pain and she'd had her dinner, she was in a fine mood. That lasted until I tried to put her to bed, which sent her into a full blown tantrum again. I was exhausted from lack of sleep, but I brought her back out into the living room and let her run around for a while, fed her frozen strawberries to try and numb her gums, and let her tire herself out as much as possible. She finally passed out around 9, so I finally crawled into bed and did the same. Yeesh.
Made the mistake of waking her for our usual pre-work morning routine this morning, which set off another tantrum. Took 45 minutes to calm her down enough that I could sneak out of the room and leave for work. I will be very, very glad when this tooth is finally in.
M offered to pick up dinner tonight since we've both been having to focus so much energy on the baby lately, so it's pizza tonight. If the baby goes to bed at a decent time (ha!) then I might be able to get some sewing in. I would love to finish this skirt before this coming three-day weekend (MLK day) so I can use those days to mock up and start on the bodice, but I'm not especially optimistic about that possibility. Still, I should have the skirt finished by next week, and I'll still be on track to finish the dress before the end of the month. Hooray!
