Mar. 12th, 2025 08:49 amWas so ravenously hungry when I got home that I scrapped any cooking plans and just made a cookie sheet full of taquitos for dinner. M was stressed and irritable because of work, so I let him stew in his office while the baby and I stayed in the living room. She went down for bed just before M finished work, so when he emerged a few minutes later we transferred her to her crib and I took a shower. Got out of the shower to the sounds of her screaming, so we had a 30 minute bouncing and singing session before she finally settled back in and went to sleep.
M and I went to bed directly after, and we were both asleep by 10, him exhausted from work and me from the early morning and time change. I'd set my alarm incorrectly and it went off at 6 instead of letting me sleep in until 7, but I got up anyway and finished the last major pile of dishes in the kitchen before getting ready for work. Hooray! All that's left now is a collection of cups and whatever plates M has been hoarding in the office, and the kitchen will officially and finally be squared away.
The next big task is to iron all of my work clothes and put away all the clean laundry, which has been sitting in laundry bags all around the bedroom. Yeesh.
More stupidity from our apartment complex, or perhaps this time the city itself. When coming home yesterday, every single car that was parked on the street, without exception, had a giant orange sticker on it marking it as an abandoned vehicle. M checked the Honda, and yup, it had been marked, too. The sticker said it would be towed on the 14th, so we have time to figure out where to put it. For the meantime, we're going to just register it as a guest vehicle and park it in the apartment lot, but they only let you do that for 3 consecutive days.
Shockingly (behold my dripping sarcasm) none of the cars parked on the streets in the rich neighborhood directly adjacent to our complex had stickers on them. Just us those around our complexes belonging to us Poors. -_-
In other news, I can feel my sewing mojo starting to return, but it's aimed in completely the wrong direction. I need to be working on my red natural form dress, and all I want to make are Elizabethan things. Maybe I can do both - Elizabethan hand sewing during down time at work, natural form machine sewing while at home. That doesn't sound insane at all.
