Went home over lunch yesterday to watch the baby while M had the meeting that had originally been planned for Monday. She was napping when I arrived, but woke up as soon as she heard me. I fed her some lunch while I heated up the last of the soup for the adults and made supplementary sandwiches. I had to head back to work as soon as M's meeting was over, so we didn't get to eat together.

Came home after work and discovered M making dinner! He had picked up some freshly made sausages at Central Market and was just about to start frying them up. We had a grand sausage feast with a side of pasta. Even the baby got half a sausage, which she seemed to love. They rotate their flavors, so we tried a new Cuban-style sausage with orange, which M seemed to like but to me just tasted overwhelmingly of cumin.

Didn't do any sewing because I was mentally stuck on getting the skirt done, and couldn't work on it without interfacing. I realized just before bed that I could have cut out the mockup for the bodice, but oh well.

M needs me home early tonight, so I won't have time to stop at Joann's to pick up any interfacing. I went ahead and put in an order - 50 yards got the price down $0.54/yd, so might as well stock up. Also bought as much gridded interfacing as they had in stock so I can start patterning natural form stuff as soon as Dickens is over.

Speaking of natural form stuff, a tentative schedule of events for Navasota has been put out, and it's going to be a packed weekend.
Friday night social
Saturday promenade/shopping/guided history tour
Saturday night ball with dinner
Sunday tea

I feel like I'll need an extra day dress, but considering I'm barely scraping a single dress together for Dickens when I started sewing it six months ago, it's unlikely that will happen. Since the ball and dinner are combined this year, I may skip the dinner dress for the time being and make the second day dress instead. I did find this plate, and I have all the fabrics in my stash to make the red dress, except in dark blue. The design looks very simple, and I've already found a suitable pattern in De Gracieuse, so it could possibly go together fairly quickly. We'll see how well I manage the other planned dresses first.
