I am completely exhausted today. M kept me up late chatting, and then kept rolling over on me during the night, so I did not sleep great. I feel like I didn't sleep at all. -_-
12 more days until M goes to visit his brother, and then I'll have the house to myself for 9 days. I won't be able to take all that time off work, but I'm going to try and make the best of the uninterrupted time alone to get some real sewing done.
I'm going to experiment with the white wrapper fabric and some fabric paints to see if I can obscure some of the pattern in areas where I don't want it. I think that interfacing all the skirt panels to give it some heft, and then painting over the parts I don't need, may just get me where I want to go. But, experiments first. If it doesn't work, then plan B is to order a boatload of paisley shawls and use those. We'll see what happens.
This weekend is absolutely the final push to get the Swap dress done. I dithered about last weekend and didn't work on it, but I'm sick of looking at it, so I need to finish it. I'm aiming to finish it no later than 2pm on Sunday so I still have to to get to the park and take some final shots. Then, good riddance.
ETA: My sister is on board for an 1850s photo shoot once I get my Christmas red dress done. Her FIL gave her a pretty sweet Nikon camera with a couple of lenses, so it will be fun to play with that. :D
