Nov. 16th, 2020 09:13 amThe pumpkin dress is finished except for closures, and the video is still not up. I'm beginning to think this project is mildly cursed. Did not get a chance to start on the hoop rehab or the exercise outfit this weekend, as there were many distractions.
Had lunch with my sister on Saturday, and we went to Rise again, which is a place that specializes in souffles. I had the cauliflower and brie souffle, and we split a cranberry souffle for dessert. While everything was extremely delicious and decadent, it's essentially fluff, and not super filling. The violet mimosa was amazing, though.
After lunch we explored Airfield Park, which is directly adjacent to the JAB and has one of the few natural waterfalls along the Trinity River that hasn't been paved over for a subdivision. It was very lovely, but crowded, and is bordered by...a subdivision. It's mostly hidden, but you can still see the McMansions along the walking path. :-/ The main path is planted up with butterfly-attractant plants and bushes, which I'm sure is really fun in the spring.
I watched all of Lower Decks, which is the new Star Trek animated series. I was surprised how much I enjoyed it, as it explored some of the things about Starfleet that the main series don't cover, mainly the question of what happens after first contact is over and the bureaucracy kicks in. The final episode had a great battle scene with the Pakleds of all things, with the entire point being that Starfleet wrote them off as a joke and they were essentially allowed to become dangerous because no one checked up on them. Great animation, really excellent music, good jokes. 10/10 do recommend.
In YouTube news, I've had an unexpected surge in subscribers, and I've gained another 71 followers in the past week. And I haven't even posted anything new! I better post something soon before the numbers drop off.
I also finally hit 1,000 followers on Instagram. I really should post there more often.
