Oct. 12th, 2021 08:45 amAfter a discussion about linen corsets on one of the FB sewing groups, I decided that it was a good idea to go and change "glazed linen" to "coutil" in all my corset patterns. I don't want to cause any confusion, since the true meaning of "trielje" is still up in the air. It took considerably less time that I expected, so that's all taken care of and I can resume pattern excavations.
Extracting patterns at the end of the 1890s and onward is becoming somewhat frustrating. The magazine started overlapping way more patterns at this time, so instead of untangling four of five patterns, now there can be upwards of a dozen, with some twisty embroidery patterns thrown in for good measure. It's making pattern markings much harder to decipher, and I had to redo one pattern at least 6 times because I kept finding new markings to include.
Went to upload my finished patterns to google drive yesterday and alarmingly discovered that half of the patterns were gone from my computer! I'm betting IT did some sort of remote cleanup, or an update of something, which wiped everything out. Thankfully, I have been uploading everything to draft posts on my sewing blog, so I still have all my work. Whew! That could have been a major setback, because everything before 1884 is just gone.
Put in a big curbside order for pickup this morning, which should be waiting for me by the time I get off work. Pickup really is the best, all the store closest to us are always incredibly packed.
Woke up to find a zit directly on top of my facial mole. (It's always been a cute mole, like a Marilyn Monroe beauty mark.) This has made the mole swell, and now I look like a cartoon witch. Yeesh. Thank goodness for masks, which I will be wearing everywhere until the stupid thing goes down.
The kitten now knows the pst-pst-pst sound means dinner, and he will come galloping from across the complex when I call.
