New K-9 at work! He's an all-black German shepherd and he's gorgeous and a very good doggo.
We have a "dense fog" advisory this morning, and it's very soupy out. A last gasp of winter before summer settles in.
I made a big pot of chili at M's request last night. I stopped at the farmer's market store to pick up onions and peppers, but they wanted $8/lb for ground beef, and I need 5 pounds for chili, so NOPE. I had to stop at Walmart to pick up some cheap meat. Yeesh.
Thickened the chili with tomato paste this time instead of cornstarch and the consistency is much better. Used two cans of fire-roasted diced tomatoes, and two cans worth of water, and the liquid amount was just right. I slightly oversalted this batch, but it still turned out pretty well.
I got home much later with having to stop at multiple places, and the chili wasn't finished until after 8, so no sewing was done last night and the bumpad remains unfinished. But, I don't have to cook or clean anything tonight, or stop anywhere on the way home, so all my attention can go to finishing the bumpad. I already informed M that he is going to be helping me make a dress form tomorrow night.
