May. 22nd, 2023 08:24 amWeekend was crazy busy. On Saturday, I finally hit BB&B to see if there was anything left worth having. There was a surprising amount of Stuff left, but unsurprisingly it was all the high-dollar stuff like the $200 Egyptian cotton sheets. I did pick up a replacement shower curtain and liner, and a little standing ring towel holder, and it still ended up at $50 for those three items despite being discounted.
Bummed that I couldn't find any affordable new sheets, I went over to At Home, and found some cotton sateen sheets there for $60. Hooray! I also picked up a chinoiserie vase I've had my eye on, an armful of silk peonies, some throw pillows for the couch, and some new water goblets. I spent the rest of Saturday decorating the house with my new purchases.
I was beat, but still managed to make myself dump the remaining spaghetti sauce and take out the stupid amount of accumulated trash in the kitchen.
Sunday was a cleaning day - I sorted through the clean laundry (most of it ended up on the ironing pile, blah), put away the rest of the flotsam that had accumulated around the front door, and put away the remaining sewing projects. I did a deep clean of the cat closet since lately they've been wrecking it on a daily basis for some reason. I vacuumed all the high-traffic areas and even moved the furniture in order to get all the little tumbleweeds of cat hair that like to hide there. After dinner I patched the walls, painted them, and then took a shower before collapsing into bed.
It was not a restful night - had to pee at 2, and then M finally made it home at around 4. I could not get to sleep for a long while after he came home, so I'm pretty zombified today. Carolina was so happy that M was home. She had been sleeping next to me in bed, and when he came in she jumped up and crawled onto his chest. When he rolled over to get to sleep, she crawled up on my chest and was purring so, so loud. She was very excited.
My hips were not happy about all the physical work this weekend, and I've developed a fun new pregnancy symptom - sciatica! -_- Very normal, apparently, as your pelvis rearranges itself. Millions of years of evolution and our bodies are still this stupid during pregnancy. Yeesh.
I am so glad there's a three-day weekend coming up and I don't really have to do anything during it.
