Finally found an online fabric store, in the States, that still had some of the green serpentine fabric in stock that I used on my 1840s gown from a couple of years ago. I ordered four more yards of it for the alterations and additions I plan to do to the dress, which will hopefully be here by the time M goes out of town.

This weekend I'm planning to whip together a corded petticoat. I feel like I can get that done in a weekend. If I have time, then I may attempt to make the grosgrain petticoat, too, but that one requires a lot of futzing with flounces, and I may have to save that one for next weekend.

Speaking of which, I realized last night that M will be out of town over the 3-day Juneteenth weekend, so I actually have the run of the house for sewing shenanigans for three days instead of two. Hooray! I'm excited to do some sewing again. If I can get the grosgrain petticoat finished in one day or so, that will leave me two nearly full days to update/alter the 1840s dress. Should be enough time, since it just needs some adjustment to the fit, new sleeves, mancherons, and a ruffle at the hem. Easy peasy.

I thought I might dress up and take pictures in the park once the dress is finished, but the forecast for the holiday weekend has a high of 102 every day. NO.
