Jun. 12th, 2023 08:35 amWeekend did not go to plan, but it was still productive.
I stopped at Joann's on the way home Friday afternoon, and man, I had forgotten how much they suck. All I wanted was some decent white cotton, but all their cottons were so loosely woven I could see my hand through them. -_- I was also looking for some thick cording for the bottom rows of the petticoat, but the dude that worked there had no idea what I was talking about, and when I finally found it they had all of two yards of it. Hmm. So, petticoat did not happen over the weekend, after all. I will stop at the hardware store at some point this week and pick up some cotton rope for the bottom rows, instead.
Saturday I did some light housework, like sweeping the porch and organizing the kitchen, and then in an attempt to clear off the sewing table I finally tackled the ironing pile. It took me all day - from 11am to 5pm - to finish that stupid pile. It was worth it, though, since now I don't have to wake up early every morning to iron a dress for work.
I completely borked my shoulder by ironing for that long, though. I had been trying to save my hip, so I sat down while I was ironing, but that meant that I was holding my arm up parallel to my shoulder pretty much all day, so it was so sore on Sunday that I could barely use it. Stupid.
The book I ordered went from Dallas to Kentucky, and then back to Texas, because that makes total sense. Thankfully, it's not shipping with OSM, so I'm not too worried about it. I still haven't received a shipping notice for the fabric I ordered, which is slightly worrying since I wanted it for this coming weekend. I was dumb and ordered as a guest instead of making an account on the site, so I can't see if there are any updates, either.
Had a nice message from a YT fan saying they missed my videos and hoped I would start posting again. I will not be posting this year, I don't think, but it was nice to hear I was missed!
