This cold is really kicking my butt. Blah. Woke up yesterday feeling okay, thought I might be on the mend, but deteriorated as the day went on. Today I am a blob of goo again, downing Dayquil just to make myself feel mildly human.

Managed to make a pot of stew again yesterday, so at least food is taken care of for the next couple of days. Along the way, I cleaned out the fridge of expired food, of which there was a lot more than I expected. Lots of well-intentioned ingredient purchases that never ended up getting used. The freezer had its own cleanout/re-tetrising last weekend, so now we really have an idea of what we have and what we don't. I'm hoping we can get through most of the frozen meat in the next couple of months so we can stock the freezer with ready-made meals that just need to be popped in the oven during maternity leave, and neither of us have to do too much in the way of cooking.

We have a big bag of frozen wontons that M wants to take advantage of this coming weekend, and we have a million pounds of frozen chicken thighs to get through, so I'm trying to find some easy-to-make Chinese recipes. It's new territory for me. I've made bao before (sooo time consuming) and sushi, and one pot of mediocre fried rice, and that's about it. Found a simple-sounding recipe for some glazed thighs that I'm going to try. Seems easy enough.
