Jul. 17th, 2023 08:37 amWhen I got home on Friday, M had napped, spent some time catching up with long-distance friends, and had had a good day and was in a much better mood. He decided he wanted to check out Microcenter in Dallas, which is this massive store with every computer part you could ever imagine. He loaded up on over $1k of new parts to upgrade his computer, and he was very happy.
A FB friend is currently liquidating her sewing business, so I snagged some good deals over the weekend - a discontinued pattern for a Robe a la Francaise, a pair of vintage passimentarie closures, and a furisode, sans sleeves. Since the kimono is already missing half of itself, I won't feel too bad about using the rest of it to make something new. (I'm thinking an 1870s gown, probably natural form since there's only so much kimono fabric.) The closures are slated for a future dolman, and the pattern will just be good to have for when I don't feel like drafting/draping a whole Francaise dress myself.
M had his dental appointment on Saturday, and he was pretty out of it for the rest of the day. He basically woke up, went to appointment, came home, and went back to sleep. He woke up just around dinner time, and since Chance wanted to take him out for a birthday dinner, he was gone the rest of the evening. We ended up not seeing each other much that day, and he was up all night because he'd knocked his sleep schedule off course, but at least that meant that I got the whole bed to myself for most of the night!
Sunday was a mild cleaning day. Tookie had one of her "I'm going to pee aaaaaall over this closet" days, so a heavy duty scrub was called for. Afterward, I started on the dish pile, since M, despite continuously saying he was going to get to it, had not, in fact, gotten to it. I did a sink full of plates before he swooped in and decided he was going to finish it.
Reader, he did not finish it. He managed a few pots and pans, and then got distracted and wandered off. ~sigh~ At least there was enough clean that I could make dinner, so I whipped up a ground beef and noodle something or other that was fine. We finished the night with a couple of episodes of Better Call Saul, and then it was off to bed.
No big plans for this week. I felt the itch to sew over the weekend, and may try to tackle the corded petticoat this week, but no promises. I get so absolutely exhausted doing even minor things right now that I just can't really plan to do much of anything for the time being. Blah.
