More sewing stuff

I didn't track the time closely, but I started somewhere around 7 and finished just before 9, so with distractions one little flower takes approximately 2 hours to do. I have one more flower to do, but I don't want to do it just yet, so I'm going to do a vine next. BTW, this is the cording that I'm using, and it's stunning in person. It really sparkles, almost like faux goldwork.
I figure that one skirt panel, if I worked on it every night after work and all day on the weekends, would take an entire week to finish the embroidery. Since life obviously won't let me do that, it will more likely be something like one skirt panel a month, which I'm fine with. I don't need to have this outfit finished by any particular time, though I am arbitrarily aiming for having it done by September of next year. I think that's plenty of time to get everything done with other projects sprinkled in throughout.
Still haven't managed to stop by the storage unit and pull out the green taffeta for the Ivy Dress. I may or may not do that this weekend, but I do need to start on that project sooner rather than later. I am slightly worried I won't have enough fabric, since I remembered that I did cut out the underskirt for the dress umpteen years ago, which is now lost somewhere. I don't think it was in the apartment when it burned down, so it may actually be in storage somewhere. If it is, that would save me quite a bit of time, and I wouldn't have to worry about having enough yardage. If I can't find it, though, I worry that I won't have enough fabric for the entire gown without some serious finagling. I'll have to find the fabric first and measure it, so fingers crossed.
If I don't have enough fabric for the Ivy Dress, I think I'm going to completely change gears and make something entirely different, something more 1890s. There's an evening gown pattern from 1894 in Authentic Victorian Fashion Patterns that's dead simple and would look very nice made up.
