Mar. 20th, 2024 08:31 amBaby slept through the night! She woke up only 10 minutes before my alarm, so we had a nice relaxed morning and we were both rested and in a good mood. Hooray!
There was some sort of science thing put on by the nursing staff happening in the training room when I came into work today. They had tri-fold poster presentations that took me right back to the grade school science faire, with titles like "TB or Not TB" and "Cows! Cows! Cows!"
Signed the baby up for Dolly Parton's Imagination Library yesterday. If she's approved (can't see why she wouldn't be), she'll get a free book every month until she's 5, which is pretty awesome. First book should arrive in a few months.
Had the idea to do a video about prepping some upcoming Elizabethan projects, and intended to start filming last night, but the upstairs neighbors must have been having one wild slumber party, because there were about twenty 12-year-old girls playing loud thumping music and dancing? jumping? body slamming? in the upstairs apartment and running around the complex screaming until about 11pm. I don't know who does a slumber party on a Tuesday, but they sure did.
Thankfully, slumber parties are usually a one-night event, so tonight should be much quieter. I plan to either cut out an Elizabethan shift, or to trace out the embroidery for the coif. I am planning two plain shifts, a square-necked and a high-necked. I want to hand-sew them because I actually really enjoy sewing my shifts by hand, I find it oddly relaxing.
I know at this point I will not have the video edited and ready to go by Friday, but I will be able to put it out next Friday, so it still counts for March.
Ugh, this stupid opera dress project. Words cannot express how little I want to work on it right now.
