May. 8th, 2024 09:13 amI think I've figured out why the baby is so fussy lately, and that's because her food portions have been too small. She's been eating every 2 hours because we just aren't giving her big enough bottles for her current size. So, we're going to up her ounces and see if that makes things easier on her. I've been giving her a little snack of 3oz or so just before we go to bed (which is about an hour after her last feed), which calms her enough that she falls asleep immediately, so I should have realized she was just hungry.
Had the pot roast going in the crock pot all day, so all that was left to do when I got home was make some potatoes and gravy. Still didn't manage to get the food done until after 8, but eh, at least it was done. The roast was so tender that I couldn't remove it from the crock pot without it disintegrating, so mission accomplished.
Been craving German food lately, but have had no desire to go to Kuby's in Dallas (where they make their own German sausages in house and they are perfect) after the arduous sans-AC schlep to Frisco the other day. Discovered that there is a Ukranian store here in town, so I'm going to check that out. Eastern European/Russian food is not similar to German food, but they may still have some things I'm looking for. I did see on their website that they have frozen red currants, which I am actually pretty excited for since they're impossible to find over here. I think a fruit tart may be in order.
