As predicted, no sewing was done last night. I hung out on the couch with the baby, who has entered the "your face is HILARIOUS, let me grab it!" stage, which is admittedly pretty fun. She kept trying to grab my teeth? Silly.

Since there was still stew, I didn't have to cook, which gave me time to do a deep clean of the cat closet.

Did do a little bit of website work, but not a ton. I'm enjoying it, though, and I'll be glad when everything is updated.

I feel like I have a pretty productive mojo right now. Maybe it's having a goal again? Dunno. I've felt kind of adrift lately, so it is nice to work toward something again.

Was searching through Wiener Modespiegel trying to find the inspiration plate for the ruffle monster, and came across something surprising. Y'all remember bubble skirts? The 1850s did it first.

I found a BUNCH of plates with bubble skirts. I find it mildly hilarious. I love how unhinged the 1850s fashion can be.

Found several examples of the sort of skirt I'm making for the ruffle monster! Strangely, I did not find the original inspiration plate, which I remember being a yellow dress with white ruffles, but I found plenty of others.

Most are from '53-'54, but a couple of examples also popped up in '59. Ruffles! On flounces!
