Oct. 7th, 2024 09:14 amFelt incredibly restless on Friday, so decided to call it a day a bit early since the boss wasn't even there. Poured my restlessness into finally ironing all the clean laundry from the last laundry run, and now I don't have to dig through a giant bag every morning to see which item I can wear to work that is the least wrinkled. Dinner was leftover enchiladas, so no cooking needed to be done.
Saturday I attempted sewing, but the baby was having none of it. I did manage to finish reinforcing all the gusset points on the 1830s stays, so that is finally off the list, but grommets did not happen. Grr. I did pull out the unfinished pieces for the ruffle monster and set them up to be worked on again.
Sunday I woke up deep in the clutches of a hormonal depression. I was barely functional, but I dragged my ass to the Indian grocery store for some spices. Tried their samosas, which were delicious, and their cardamom chai, which was revolting. They had European Fanta, so I picked up a bottle of that. It's not quite how I remember it from Germany, but it turned out that I had a Romanian one, hence the difference. I attempted to get through the forest of dishes in the kitchen, but only managed about half of it. Was unable to cook, so I picked up Indian food from our favorite spot instead. Finished the night watching another episode of the Vince McMahon documentary with M, and eating ice cream sandwiches.
Tickets for official Dickens events are finally going on sale this morning! I picked up my ticket for the Friday evening soiree and the Saturday brunch-time tea on the tall ship Elissa, and am deciding on what else I want to attend. There's a breakfast on Saturday morning, handbell concerts in the evenings, a burlesque show, a champagne reception, and some tours. The soiree and the tall ship were the two I was mainly focused on, and along with the Saturday night ball and the Sunday tea reception, I do have a pretty full schedule.
Ravioli alfredo with chicken for dinner tonight. May attempt to finish the dishes, or may attempt to do grommets.
