Nov. 27th, 2024 09:33 amThe grocery pickup last night was a complete madhouse, which I should have expected. It was a good 40 minute wait, first for a parking spot to open up, and then for my order to be brought out. Could have gone inside and done the shopping myself in that time frame, but oh well. I didn't feel like peopling.
M headed out as soon as I got home so he could find a coat since Winter is upon us. We'll hit 80 today, and then be in the 30s tomorrow morning. Hooray! But he is sans coat since the fire, so it's time to finally replace it. No luck on it last night, though, so he will venture out again today and hopefully find something he likes.
My winter clothes have arrived! The dresses all fit pretty well and look nice, but the sweaters are enormous, and I absolutely swim in them. Hmm. Lesson learned, order a size down for sweaters in the future. They'll be nice for lounging around the house, though. The sleeves on everything are also inexplicably 1-2 inches too long. I'm trying to decide whether I'll bother hemming them or not.
I finally managed to make the ham and potato chowder last night, and it was a success! It's THICC, so I'll probably add a bit more broth today when I reheat it. But the flavors were good, so it goes into the recipe book.
Baby was up again at 2 this morning, but since I knew this time what she needed, I gave her a dose of Motrin and a warm bottle, and she was back to sleep in 15 minutes. Hooray! I managed to fall asleep again fairly easily, so I'm not dragging too much today.
The kitchen is absolutely wrecked after a week of being off schedule and not cleaning in the morning, so I will attempt to remedy that tonight. Tomorrow, I sleep in, then I sew. I'm trying to get myself into the sewing headspace, but my brain is not in a sewing mood. Not sure how to get there, either, but I must power through. This dress absolutely must be finished this weekend, otherwise I'll have nothing to wear at Dickens, and we can't have that!
