Mar. 6th, 2025 12:48 pmQuick dinner of hamburgers last night. Baby fought bedtime again, but I managed to get her down at around 8. No other chores happened afterward, and M had finished work early enough that he had some free time to game, so he stayed online until around 10. I watched episode 2 of 1923, which was a vast improvement on episode 1, and it was fun to see familiar landmarks like the Galvez hotel in Galveston. Everyone in every Taylor Sheridan production is completely miserable all the time, but at least this cast doesn't make act so dour.
Baby has acquired a new word - "cheese!" It's a good word to have.
I showered late, and then we transferred the baby to her crib for the night. M kept me up late chatting about finances. He is very excited about how well we are hitting our goals, and rattled off all sorts of optimistic numbers for our savings account over the next year. He finally let me fall asleep around 11, when he went back to the living room to continue gaming.
Dreamt about a nuclear apocalypse, so that was fun.

danabren's advice I downloaded my social security statement yesterday. Hopefully it can happy collect dust in my hard drive and not be needed to fight the government.
Been researching new energy companies all morning, since our contract with Gexa is up in a couple of weeks. I never paid much attention to our monthly bill except to pay it, but now that I'm looking at them deeper as I compare it to other companies, I'm seeing all the price fuckery they've done. Our rate is supposed to be 9.6 cents/kwh, but it's actually 15.4, to which they occasionally apply a credit, which sometimes gets it down to somewhere between 11 and 14 cents, but if we use less than 1000kwh then our price goes up to 20.3! Madness.
I've found a company that says they charge 14.5, and if we're under 1000kwh then it only goes up to 15, so I'm thinking we'll switch to them. They're called Southern Federal, and when I told M about them he said "what are we, Confederates?!" Which honestly was also the first thought I had. XP
