Weekend was much more exhausting than anticipated, even though I didn't do nearly everything I wanted to.

Woke up Saturday, kitted up, and headed out to the nearby park to take photos of the loose gown and kirtle. It was already steaming hot, even at 9AM, so I was a sweaty little ball of exhaustion by the time I was done. But, I got some fairly decent shots from the day. And yes, I am enormously pregnant.

Came home with just enough time to freshen up and change before heading out to meet my sister for lunch. She wanted to show off her new car - a Jaguar coupe - so I met her at the mall, hopped in, and we drove around for a bit. Lunch was at Rise, the souffle place. We split the appetizer soup (tomato soup with tiny ricotta souffles in it that look like marshmallows) and a cheese board, I had a cauliflower & brie souffle for mains, and then we split the pumpkin souffle for dessert. It was an expensive but delicious lunch!

My sister wanted to go out after lunch and get our nails done, but I was completely drained at this point and couldn't do anything more. So, I came home and spent the rest of the day editing my photos and finishing the blog writeup for the 1590s stuff.

Saturday night was fight night, apparently, which meant that M was absolutely adamant about having pizza and wings for dinner because that's what you eat while watching the fights. We ordered delivery from Buffalo Bros. I did not complain because it meant I didn't have to do anything. XD

I spent Sunday camped out on the couch. I was painfully bored all day long, but I've become so large that it's difficult to really do much now. It's really annoying, and I feel sort of trapped. I can't believe I have seven more weeks of this, and I'll only keep expanding in that time. ~sigh~

Tried watching Ahsoka on Disney and only managed two episodes of it. It just was really...boring? I dunno, maybe I just wasn't in the right mood for it. Ended up starting a rewatch of The Sopranos, and kept with that for the rest of the day.

I'm trying not to blow a bunch of money on books right now, but there are so many books I want to buy that even second-hand are running around $40. -_- I currently have 47 books saved on my AbeBooks account that I'm stalking, some of them significantly more than $40. ~sigh~ My one shelf of costuming books is already full on my sewing bookcase, so I may need to buy another entire bookcase soon.

Pretty tempted to make this loose jacket. My pregnancy might be coming to an end soon, but I have become all about the comfy Elizabethan clothes. I spent some of my downtime this weekend researching this jacket and it doesn't seem that anyone has patterned this one for a book, but a FB friend posted a memory this morning of making the other loose jacket in the V&A's collection, which is basically the same pattern, and mentioned that the pattern was in Volume 2 of Seventeenth-Century Women's Dress Patterns. This is, of course, the volume that I don't have, so yeah, I just bought another book.

The embroidery book I bought last week is being shipped by OSM. ~sigh~ I've already mentally written it off as lost in the mail.

One of the sergeants at work came in all last week with Covid. She complained of feeling bad as early as the previous week, didn't bother to get tested until this last Thursday, and came up positive. Hopefully none of the rest of us come down with it, but there's a fair chance someone will since all the sgts share a single office. I can't help but be pissed that she continued to come in sick and not bothered with testing for over a week, it's just so irresponsible and inconsiderate.

The chores at the house are piling up and getting a little bit overwhelming. M keeps saying he's going to do stuff and then doesn't do it, so I really need to get with him and force him to help me catch up, because the place is feeling rather claustrophobic and unruly.
