Remember when I said M was coming down with something? Well, he shared it with the whole family, and all three of us were sick over the weekend. I was fine on Friday until just after dinner, when I suddenly felt immense sinus pressure and started to get sniffly. Saturday morning I was fully sick and miserable.
Spent most of the weekend hanging out on the couch. Baby was also sick, so it was mostly just the two of us in a nest of blankets and kleenex. M slept for a thousand years, then got up in the afternoon and went out to do car stuff. Discovered that the parts needed are nearly double the price in store than they are online, so repairs are delayed until the parts can come in the mail.
I did manage to attach the bias ruffle to the 1830s skirt, even though it took me two days to do it. Between being wretched myself and the baby barely napping because she felt bad, I hardly had any free time. But, it is attached now, so hooray!
At work today because I only have 6 hours of sick time available, boo.
The dress for next year's Red color themed tea is starting to take shape in my mind, and as I was browsing etsy I came across the perfect fabric for a part of it, so I bought all their remaining yardage. It was only 6 yards, but it's 60" wide, and I'm only using it for part of the underskirt, so I think it'll be fine. Definitely not jumping on that project just yet, but I had to snatch that fabric up while it was still there. (Though, curiously they now seem to have an additional 12 yards, when it said "sold out" when I bought it. Guess they dug up some more.)
It's really starting to feel like actual Fall here, and the weather has been gorgeous. Cool, on and off rainy, and just altogether fabulous. So glad summer decided to actually end once August was over instead of hanging around forever. Apple cinnamon candles have been purchased, pumpkin things will be in the works next weekend.
