Sewing was accomplished!
As soon as I got home, M was pretty much out to door to go do stuff about the new car, inspections and repairs and whatnot, so I was on my own for most of the evening. Since he wasn't home, I didn't bother cooking and just threw some taquitos in the oven, which freed up a lot of my time. The baby was pretty content to stay in the play pen, too, so the few times she got a little fussy I just distracted her with some cheese, and she was happy again.
All that meant that I finished all the ruffles for the second tier of the skirt! Hooray! If I am lucky, then tonight I might get the rest of the assembly finished, though I do have to cook tonight so I'm not holding my breath. But I absolutely will be able to finish the second tier by the weekend, which is fabulous. Hopefully tier 3 goes just as quickly.
Pulled out a pork shoulder to make pulled pork for tacos, but it was much larger than I remembered and it was not finished defrosting when I got up this morning. So, chicken something tonight while the pork finishes thawing. I'll have to cut it in half to get it into our crock pot, because I was dumb and bought a roast twice the size I needed. But at least it will feed us the entire weekend, and I'll have even more precious sewing time. I want this blasted skirt to be finished.
