m_of_disguiseHad an arctic cold front move in yesterday. It was 50 degrees when I woke up, and it was 23 by the time the sun went down. It was raining all morning, so work let us go home early for fear of everything freezing over. I went home, took over baby duties from a very relieved M, and made a pot of soup for dinner.
The baby has taken a keen interest in my language lessons. Whenever she hears the Duolingo app start up, she runs over to sit in my lap, and then she just leans her head on my shoulder and watches me muddle my way through my Chinese lessons. I end up doing more lessons so she can enjoy them with me. It's very sweet, and hey, maybe she'll pick up some Chinese along the way.
Baby went to bed without much fuss, but I was monstrously tired and ended up not doing anything else for the evening, which has now put me behind on the bodice. Definitely no bertha at this point, but I can still get the thing wearable by the ball, even if that means some last-minute hand-sewing when we're down in Navasota. Ah, well. Would it really be a proper event without last minute hotel room sewing?
