m_of_disguiseTook an unexpected day off of work yesterday. Both M and I had slept horribly the night before - I had gone to bed at 8, completely exhausted and in pain from fatigue, and then woken up at 2AM unable to get back to sleep. M, well, his sleep schedule is borked anyway.
And then the baby woke up at 6:30AM for some reason. I got her up, we brushed teeth together, and then morning sickness got me and got me hard. After I was recovered and washed up from that (during which the baby brought me her bath toys, which was very sweet), I fed her some breakfast and intended to get her ready for M to take over. He stumbled out of the bedroom and begged me to stay home so he could catch up on sleep (he'd only gotten to sleep a couple of hours before), so that's what I did.
Baby was mostly well behaved. At some point I got irrationally angry at the playpen for existing and taking up space, so I decided to go ahead and take it down. It's now stowed away in the closet for future use, and I feel like our living room has doubled in size and I can breathe again.
The new router arrived in the morning, so I was able to get it set up and our internet finally running again, which was a huge relief. The baby has her cartoons back, and I can stream my nonsense without having to put up with watching stuff on my phone, which I hate doing.
Baby fought her nap intensely, and even though she was up at the crack of dawn, she did not want to sleep at all during the day. I finally was able to get her down around 1:30, and she was asleep just long enough for me to make a late lunch of tea sandwiches and caprese salad, before she was up again and ready to go.
I was exhausted and fading hard, and while she didn't nap again, she did go down at her normal bedtime with minimal fuss, thank Zod. M went out and got us a couple of burgers for a late dinner, and I did the cat chores before collapsing into bed.
Woke up at my normal time today and did about 10 minutes worth of dish cleaning before work. Not enough to knock it all out, but I did get one of the larger stacks squared away. Final push to get them all done will happen this weekend so I don't have to think about them anymore. No other goals for the weekend, I really just want to relax and have an easy time of it after this week's been so rough.
