m_of_disguiseWell, I decided to bite the bullet and put in an order for a butt load of pashmina scarves to attempt a fancy wrapper dress. I bought 10 of this style.
That should be enough scarves to give me a pretty full skirt and be enough for the bodice and sleeves. I may revisit using the white paisley fabric that I bought earlier, but right now it's just too much work to get it where I want it.
And who knows? The pashminas may have the same problem, that the paisley bit goes up a bit too far and would be wonky when cut to length for a skirt. If that does happen, though, I can just gift my friends with some nice shawls for historical stuff, so at least they won't go to waste.
