Started today with an epic nosebleed. Hooray.

The weekend was semi-productive and mostly pleasant. I spent a good chunk of Friday night and most of Saturday working on the hoop rehab. I had planned to finish it up on Sunday, but was informed by M late Saturday afternoon that his friend would be spending the night. -_- So, he and his friend had the living room the rest of the night for gaming, and his friend slept on the couch until noon on Sunday, which meant I was sitting in bed for hours not able to actually do anything, which drove me nuts.

Advanced warning next time, guys, so I can figure out how to structure my weekend!

So, the hoop rehab sits at about 60% finished, which I do think I can knock out after work over the next couple of nights. The video will just have to come out on Friday instead of Wednesday.

I did start on editing the video footage I have so far, and I'm having one of those rare moments where all the music and footage and script writing all seems to just magically come together and work. I feel way better about this video than the last few that I've put out.

I did take some time out of the weekend to explore the park down the street, which I've been meaning to do for a long time. The trails are unpaved and perfect, going up and down little hills and down toward the creek. There are lovely thickets and sunken paths, and lots of spooky looking fallen trees, which were great fun to climb around on. I just explored on Saturday, and then on Sunday I went back to see if I could get some good b-roll there. The answer was mostly no - the trees are too thick and everything is the same color, so it doesn't look that stellar on film. But it's a lot of fun to play around in!

Well, I decided to bite the bullet and put in an order for a butt load of pashmina scarves to attempt a fancy wrapper dress. I bought 10 of this style.

That should be enough scarves to give me a pretty full skirt and be enough for the bodice and sleeves. I may revisit using the white paisley fabric that I bought earlier, but right now it's just too much work to get it where I want it.

And who knows? The pashminas may have the same problem, that the paisley bit goes up a bit too far and would be wonky when cut to length for a skirt. If that does happen, though, I can just gift my friends with some nice shawls for historical stuff, so at least they won't go to waste.
