May. 11th, 2021 08:48 amHad a lovely dinner with Liz last night. We caught up about life, we made costuming plans for the summer, and we booked a B&B for the lavender festival trip. Hooray! We'll be driving down Friday and returning Sunday, with stops for pics along the way. Detours to Austin have been nixed because it's over an hour out of the way. Lingerie dresses are a go, with maybe a second outfit for additional pics. I'm so excited for a weekend away, but the booking reminded me "only 32 days until your trip!" so eek, I really need to get some sewing done.
Second outfit may be purple or yellow. I have some lilac taffeta that could become something (possibly this dress), and some yellow swiss dot that could become something. I'm leaning toward the yellow, because June = HOT, and because it would look pretty against the lavender fields. Second dress is not a priority, though, since I need to get the lingerie dress done first. And my aqua petticoat. Yeesh.
We also found a really cute B&B for possible weekend costume shenanigans in the future. It's $500/night to rent the entire house, which is a steal, especially when split between a bunch of people. For anyone that's done a weekend costume thing, what sort of activities do you plan? Or do you just go with the flow? I'd like to plan something, but worry about getting there without activities planned, and the party just ending up in "now what?" territory.
Came home and M and I watched Crimson Peak together. Lots of delicious eye candy. And also pretty dresses.
