Well, I wish I could say I had a great vacation, that I finished the 1899 suit, and all is well, but yeah, none of that happened. I was sick the entire vacation, and am still fighting stomach gremlins. I've been so woozy after every meal that I'm completely useless after 2pm. The house is a disaster, and I haven't touched a sewing project the entire time. Blah.

I have a doctor's appointment for next Monday, by which point I hope this has all finally passed and I can get on with life. At this point, I'm not even sure I'm going to make it to the tea, because I keep getting sick every time I eat.

So, since I was pretty much confined to bed or couch blanket fort, I finished the rewatch of DS9, caught up on The Madalorian, finally got around to watching Andor (then watched Rogue One again so I could mentally tie it all together), finally watched Nope, and once I had run out of sci-fi to watch, watched the new The Stand. DS9 still holds up so well even 20 years later. The Mandalorian is fine this season, but feels a bit like filler until the next Big Thing. Andor was outstanding, 10/10. Nope was not at all what I expected, but I enjoyed it all the same. The Stand was so, so boring. They could have cut out so much and it wouldn't have suffered, there was just endless filler, and then the climax felt underwhelming, which is a feat considering it involves nuking Las Vegas. Meh. It could have easily been 6 episodes instead of 9. Don't recommend it.

Had a single outing during my vacation and went to Dallas to do some leisurely fabric shopping. I picked up a lovely burnt orange taffeta (my mind is still on all things orange) and some really lovely lace. It will become something 1890s, as well, but of the poofy sleeve variety.

But, because my body is dumb and stupid, I was barely functional by 3pm, and struggled on the drive home because I felt so lousy. I had wanted to maybe start draping a bodice pattern when I got home, but nope. All I managed yesterday was to make an apportioning ruler so I could draft out the pattern from one of my books, and then I was too woozy to continue.

Speaking of books, my wayward book actually made it to my doorstep! Only 5 days after they marked it as delivered! The trim I ordered for the 1899 suit back on March 23rd just shipped this morning, so there's no way it's getting here in time. Not that the suit is in any way close to being finished for the event, but yeah. Hopefully it was worth the wait.
