Mar. 31st, 2023 08:50 amThe book saga continues. Went by the post office after work, and she was able to ping the last place the package was scanned, which was the parking lot of our apartment complex. Hmm. Somehow from there it made it to neither the front door nor the mailbox. The delivery driver was already gone for the day, so she couldn't ask him about it. I suspect he left it on someone else's doorstep, or just didn't deliver it at all. Hopefully it shows up in the next couple of days, because I've had packages marked as delivered before that didn't turn up for a couple of days.
The apartment saga also continues. M talked to the office while I was doing post office stuff, and it turns out that when I gave them my ID, they were supposed to send us new lease agreements to sign (which M and I both thought we already did when they had us fill out the paper forms), but the ball got dropped by the office and they never sent out the new lease agreements. They emailed them to both of us immediately, and we filled them out immediately. Hopefully by the end of the day, this is all resolved. Their office doesn't open until 10, so I'll have to wait a while to confirm with them that we're squared away.
Found out that the Texas Civil War Museum will be closing by the end of the year, and its collection of antique garments will be auctioned off. It's too bad someone couldn't step in to run it, but it's a privately owned enterprise that's just run by a husband and wife team - its entirely made of their private collection of stuff. He collects Civil War uniforms and weaponry, she collections 19th century clothing. Kind of a bummer, it was the only permanent historical fashion exhibit in the entire state. I'll have to make some more trips to the fashion collection and take a bunch of pics. There's a purple natural form dress they have (this exact dress!) that I need to recreate.
