Oct. 29th, 2024 09:14 amM hadn't eaten the last helping of pasta for lunch like I thought he would, so we ended up finishing the ziti for dinner, and I didn't have to cook! And the baby went to bed on time without fighting me! Hooray! (Though she was a little butt during her bath; a zillion bath toys and all she wants to play with is the rubber drain plug.)
But, I didn't do any sewing. Instead, I spent what time I had prepping ingredients for tonight's dinner. I had picked up a rotisserie chicken to use for the soup, so that was thoroughly butchered, and I chopped all the veggies and put them in bags that I can just dump in the soup when it's their moment. M worked on his latest project in the living room while I chopped at the counter, and it was a nice evening.
Was in bed much later than I wanted, and then M suddenly got all chatty and kept me up talking again, so I didn't actually get to sleep until nearly 11:30. Then the baby was up a bunch during the night, so I absolutely did not catch up on sleep like I'd hoped I would. -_- I will attempt to remedy that tonight, though I am hoping the baby will go to bed early again and I can squeeze in little bit of sewing.
I brought the pattern for the ruffle monster's bodice with me today, and will work on getting it sized. I also have the evening bodice pattern on hand that needs to be assembled and sized, which I will also try to do this afternoon. Tomorrow I'm going to bring a length of muslin in to work with me to cut out the bodice mockup. I need to make a little progress every day, otherwise I will fall behind again!
Chicken and wild rice soup tonight for dinner, which should last a couple of days. We're finally going to be getting a break from the heat at the end of the week, with some nice rainy weather in the forecast, so I'm thinking a nice beef stew or a pot of chili to take us into the weekend. It's not going to be cold, by any means, but at least it won't be in the 90s anymore, and I have a feeling that's as good as it's going to get this season.
