m_of_disguiseNo work on the petticoat again. *sigh* M and I got into one of our long-lasting discussions about pop culture and whatnot, and by the time we'd wrapped it up, had dinner, and cleaned dishes, it was time for bed.
Still don't have to bother with cooking tonight, so I'm once again going to attempt to finish this damned skirt.
Speaking of petticoats, I ordered two yards of eyelet to make a whitework petticoat for the wrapper. I found some on Etsy that's 54" wide, so I'm planning to trim off the borders and applique them to a plain skirt, and do the same with the little filler floral bits to give it that hand-embroidered look. Ugh, so many petticoats this year, I'm over it.
Three day weekend is coming up, and M plans to take the remainder of that week off as vacation and do some camping. That means I have the house to myself again! I am going to eat so much Indian food while he's away. I'm also going to try and be productive and get the 1860s corset done. I know I say that every time I get the house to myself, but I have good sewing mojo right now, so I feel like I'll actually stick to it this time!
