Friday night was a quiet night in with Indian food from my favorite place. Saturday I woke up with a throbbing monster of a headache, so I downed 1000mg of tylenol and dragged myself out of the house to run some errands. I stopped by CostCo to pick up my new membership card, picked up my Joann's order, and went to Home Depot for the rope I needed for the corded petticoat. Then I went home and did nothing else for the rest of the day except try not to move too much so I wouldn't make my headache worse. Every time I felt like, hey, it doesn't feel too bad, I'd get up to do something and THROB THROB THROB, so nope, it's a couch day for you.
Thankfully, I woke up feeling fine on Sunday, but wouldn't you know, the new season of Black Mirror had finally dropped (after 4 years!), and well, there went Sunday. There were also new episodes of Outlander (Season 7 just started), Strange New Worlds (Season 2 just started) and Fear the Walking Dead (yes, it's still going, wrapping up the last season) so it was just a big TV day all around. I did manage to start the day with a trip to Central Market to pick up my German bread and a bunch of tasty cold cuts and cheeses, which I have been munching on all weekend. Bliss.
Monday I was rested and feeling good, so I started with tidying up the living room, and finally cleaning the dishes. It feels good to finally have them taken care of, even if there is a small stack of them left (can only fit so many into the drying rack.)
Once the place was in order, I started working on the grosgrain petticoat. I had done more work on it than I remembered, actually cutting out all the bits I needed and folding them neatly into stacks together (good job, past me!), so most of the day was just assembling the pieces. But, I ran into a small roadblock in that this stupid grosgrain fabric (do not recommend, use faille instead!) frays like its going out of style, and I didn't have a matching serger thread to run my seams through and couldn't move forward until I did. So, I put in another Joann's order, which I will pick up today, and just called it a wrap on sewing for the day. I toyed momentarily with working on the corded petticoat, but ended up not doing anything more.
Tonight I'll pick up the serger thread after work, then I may or may not do more work on that petticoat tonight. I also have groceries to pick up, and more German bread to buy, so I may just take it easy after all that. But I do feel confident that I can wrap it up in the next few nights!
