Hit CostCo on the way home yesterday to pick up a frozen lasagna for dinner, and ended up spending $100 on other frozen meals to make life easier on myself. They already had their Christmas stuff in, (it's 97 degrees out and it's still September, can we just chill for a minute?!) Discovered they had whole ducks in their freezer section for $25, which is the best price I've seen for duck in a while. Oh for the days when we could get a whole duck at Walmart for $12. ~sigh~
Finally broke down and signed up for YouTube premium. Their new ad format is so infuriatingly annoying and frequent that yes, they finally made it obnoxious enough that I will pay them to stop. I watch YT more than any of the other streaming services, so it was only a matter of time. Plus, I just cancelled Netflix, so it all comes out in the wash.
Drafted out the other sleeve option from Tudor Tailor while at work yesterday, and did the mockup when I got home. For reference, it's Sleeve A on the chart, which has a front-facing slash to reveal a colored panel/false lining. (Sleeve B is the armpit tumor sleeve. This is how the mockup looked.)
Thankfully, Sleeve A was much more cooperative, and I ended up with a usable sleeve without any alterations. So with confirmation from the mockup that I do actually know what the hell I'm doing, I cut everything out of the gown fabrics and linings and managed to assemble most of one sleeve before it got too late in the evening.
The poof points still need to be tacked together, and I'm going to use some of my AliExpress ouches on the places where the two sides meet to add a little sparkle.
It's my own fault that I didn't finish both sleeves last night, as I started way too late in the evening (8pm) to get any real work done. I'll have to finish up the gown tonight, which means Friday will be kirtle stuff, and I won't be able to make the new shift. Oh well. Maybe I can make a partlet while I'm at work that will give me the look of a full-blown shift underneath. All I really need is the froofy collar since that's all that will show.
Tomorrow I'll hopefully be able to sneak the coif ingredients into work with me and work on making that during my downtime. Since tomorrow is Friday, I don't have to be in bed at a reasonable hour and I can push through and finish whatever is left!
