Argh, there's a nearby (San Antonio-ish area, so "nearby") SCA shire that is having their own college/war this coming weekend, and their classes look great! There's an intro to bobbin lace class that I'm particularly interested in. ~sigh~ If I had a working air conditioner in my car, I would 100% make the trip, but I just can't do 3 1/2 unconditioned hours on the road, one-way. It's just too hot. Maybe next year.
Second plain coif is finished, and it fits much better. I'm also much more pleased with the quality of my hand sewing this time around. (Helps to not be on a time crunch!) I tried to make my hand-stitches as small as possible, only picking up two or three threads with each pass. I counted after I was done, and I managed 25 stitches per inch, a personal best!
Getting up relatively early tomorrow so I can get kitted up and take pics of the loose gown and kirtle in the park before it gets too hot. After that I'll change back into mundane clothes and meet my sister for lunch at the souffle place, Rise. They just started offering their pumpkin dessert souffle, hooray!
We have to get the baby stuff out of the living room this weekend, it is driving me nuts.
Sewing goals for the weekend - pattern out the 1902 skirt for the Ivy Dress, take apart the loose kirtle to remake it. I need to dig up which seller had that super awesome fine linen (it wasn't B&T, I've checked) so I can order a yard for the S&S coif. (Was it Sartor? Gah, I can't remember!)
