Received my first monthly statement for my restarted student loans. ~sigh~ Surprisingly, the monthly payment is less than it was before, even though I didn't do the SAVE program. (I figured that if I did my payments would go up, since I'm making significantly more now than I was when my loans were first calculated.)
My storage facility also sent out a notice that they're raising their rates, because of course they are. Right now they're still the cheapest around (but only because I took advantage of an oopsie that listed a 10x30 unit as $120 instead of the $210 it was supposed to be), even with the $50 price hike, so we'll stay there a bit longer. I'm really hoping that we can get into a house sometime in the next two years, and then we can just have all our stuff at the house (it's mostly books and fabric) and get rid of the unit altogether.
Printed out the strawberry coif pattern yesterday, so once I find some suitable linen, then I can get started on that project! Hooray! Instead of doing a polychrome and a redwork version, I've decided to combine the two, doing the vines in plaited braid and the rest in redwork, like this spiffy extant. I need to check our local embroidery shop and see if they have the silk threads I need, and if not, order them online somewhere. I purchased a booklet focused on plaited braid stitch, which will hopefully help me refine my work and figure out the exact supplies I need.
After waffling over the price of the slate frame and talking it over with M, who said that $90 is not really that expensive just order it, I have ordered the frame. Hooray! It's coming from Ukraine, so it may be a minute, but it should arrive by the end of the month. Then, embroidery shenanigans!
M was laying his head on my belly and singing to the fetus last night, which sounds adorable except that he was singing "Menace II Society". lol
