Had the morbs on Saturday and didn't do a damned thing all day except tend the baby, who was a fussy and whiny all day and didn't help my mood at all. Terrible day.
Sunday was much improved. I woke up feeling better, watched some Star Trek, made some eggs, and relaxed and enjoyed the rainy weather while we waited for M to wake up. The baby was also in a much better mood, and she happily ate, slept, and played by herself all day.
Chance came over around 6 to babysit so M and I could go out for dinner. We went to Little Germany, which I'm sad to say, has gone downhill since we first went. The red cabbage was soupy, the sauerbraten was too sour, and the spaetzle were...weird. Ah, well. The sausages were good, as were the potato pancakes. M encouraged me to find more German dishes to make at home, which I will happily do.
After dinner we went on a drive through the country. It was dreary and foggy and exactly the kind of weather I love. We chatted about all sorts of nonsense and got lost in little a little backwater town where we had to slam on the brakes for a giant crane with a frog in its mouth that was crossing the road like it owned the place. It was entirely unbothered.
Got home around 9, and tried to get to bed at a reasonable hour, but didn't fall asleep until well after midnight. I know it's because I had a soda at dinner, and the caffeine was doing me dirty. Then it was hourly nuisances from the cat, the baby, a million other little bothers throughout the night, so I think I managed about four hours of sleep in total. Bleh.
The baby woke up on and off all night, but at 5:30 she was fully awake and ready to be fed, so I dragged my ass out of bed to do our morning routine. Since I had so much spare time after we were done, I did a deep clean of the cat closet and gave them fresh litter. Didn't bother making breakfast, which I now regret. I anticipate collapsing in bed tonight and sleeping just fine.
