Well, found out I didn’t get the promotion. I wasn’t on the list for final-round interviews, so even though I’m not officially Not It, it’s a pretty solid indicator that I’m out of the running. To say that I’m disappointed is a pretty massive understatement, and I have no intention of staying with the department if they shove me back down in the basement to Booking. All of the other jobs I apply for close this week, so I’ll start making calls on Monday to follow up on those positions. I’m sort of crossing my fingers for the spot I applied for with the Amon Carter Museum – I worked there before a few years ago and really loved it, so if I could work there again I would be thrilled. It’s not full-time, but it pays more than I get at TCSO, so I’d actually end up with more take-home pay at the end of the day.

I’m going to go drown my disappointment in chocolate milkshake.
