Well, found out I didn’t get the promotion. I wasn’t on the list for final-round interviews, so even though I’m not officially Not It, it’s a pretty solid indicator that I’m out of the running. To say that I’m disappointed is a pretty massive understatement, and I have no intention of staying with the department if they shove me back down in the basement to Booking. All of the other jobs I apply for close this week, so I’ll start making calls on Monday to follow up on those positions. I’m sort of crossing my fingers for the spot I applied for with the Amon Carter Museum – I worked there before a few years ago and really loved it, so if I could work there again I would be thrilled. It’s not full-time, but it pays more than I get at TCSO, so I’d actually end up with more take-home pay at the end of the day.

I’m going to go drown my disappointment in chocolate milkshake.

Rather than a chocolate milkshake, perhaps a "special" hot chocolate? All you need is coconut rum, baking chocolate, sugar, cinnamon, and some milk. I like adding a few other spices to it as well but that will make you much happier.

That sounds amazing, but it's way too hot for hot chocolate right now. XP I'll definitely keep this recipe for later in the year!

Thanks, I hope so, too. I did apply to this one place that I feel could be a real possibility (admin assistant at a boat seller, really good pay), so fingers crossed!

Thanks! I thought I had a good shot since they've been training me for the spot since May, but you know...government work. :-/
