m_of_disguiseMeant to attack dishes last night and starch a petticoat, but neither one happened. M picked up some sandwiches for dinner, and after that neither one of us had the motivation or energy to do much else. The baby was an absolute terror. She screamed if I picked her up, or if I put her down, or if I put her in her play pen, or in her crib. She didn't want to nap or eat. WHAT DO YOU WANT, SMALL BEING?!
Eventually just put her in her crib and let her calm herself down. She finally fell asleep around 8:30. I poked a bit at the 1830s stays after that. Managed to get the hip gussets in and to assemble the remaining back pieces. I'm going to try and chip away at the stays for the rest of the week so I can hopefully finish them up over the weekend.
Stopped by the storage unit on the way home. They had sent a vaguely worded email about having new operators (again) and resigning a lease? Turns out no, I didn't have to sign anything, all was well. Since I was there I stopped by our unit and dug out the purple fabric I had planned to use with the velvet to see if it matched. It does not, but even if it did there's only about two yards of it left. Did, however, find a lovely berry colored damask that will work for the tunic with points, and it's only a few yards and so could hardly be used for anything else. I also brought the striped purple taffeta home with me to put into the Navasota pile for when I eventually start working on those projects.
