Baby had her 1-year checkup yesterday, and it went as well as can be expected. She's in the 88th percentile for her height, so she's a looong baby. She received 5 shots, and she was absolutely not happy about it. She cried all the way home, but as soon as we were inside she was fine. Comforts of home and whatnot. They said to expect her to be a little feverish and that she may get a surprise rash a couple of weeks from now, but that it's all normal. She was indeed feverish this morning, so I gave her some Motrin and she went back to sleep.
The rest of this morning was full of minor annoyances. I had ordered a spice rack from Bezosmart, and they marked it delivered at 4AM, with a picture of a mystery location featuring some sort of corrugated metal wall. Definitely not my apartment complex. After several tries, I finally got through to an actual person, and they dispatched a replacement, which should arrive this afternoon.
Upon arriving to work, I discovered that the weekly generator test had finally fried my computer for good. The past few times, it'd taken a while to get the computer to come back to life, but this time it was well and truly dead. I contacted IT, but by the time lunch rolled around they still hadn't sent a replacement, so I headed home for lunch. Thankfully, it was replaced by the time I got back.
Lunch at the house. Made hot sandwiches for the adults and fed the baby her lunch plate. She was in a good mood, but obviously tired, so I managed to get her down for a nap before I went back to work.
No sewing was done yesterday. The baby napped for the majority of the day, so I did have the time, but it felt so good to be in a quiet house by myself that I just sat and enjoyed the solitude instead. Looks like the bulk of my sewing will have to be over the weekend, as per usual. I still feel confident I can finish the dress before Dickens. There are 2 1/2 weeks before the trip, which is enough time to finish this bodice. No second bodice, no second dress, probably pre-existing accessories (I have a black wool felt bonnet in the storage unit somewhere that I can dig up.) I'm ready to be done with the 1850s for a while.
