Did a small grocery pickup of fruit for the baby after work yesterday, and it was an absolute madhouse. All 16 slots were taken, and there was a line of at least 6 cars waiting for a spot to open up. After waiting for a while, I finally just parked (the lot was also packed), walked in, and asked for my order at the service counter. Everyone is panicking over this winter storm, even though all the forecasters are saying it'll be over in two days. Yeesh.
Once I got home, M and friend left for their own shenanigans, which meant I actually had the house to myself. I finished off the last of the beef stew, then got to work on the dress again. I managed to finish pleating the first ruffle for the train and to stitch it on. The pleats seem to have exploded, though, so I'm going to have to find some way to wrangle them more effectively.
There's one more ruffle to make, then a pouf of the embroidered satin, and the skirt will be done. It looks like I'll actually be able to finish the entire dress by the end of the month, which means I should have plenty of time to make the plaid day dress, which is much simpler and requires no ruffles at all. Yay! Don't know where the dolman fits into the timeline, though.
Tickets went on sale for all the Navasota weekend events, and most events are much cheaper than I anticipated, hooray! I'll pick them up on Friday since it's payday. Liz and I chatted last night about what we want to attend and our timeline for the weekend. She has to be back in time to get to work on Sunday evening, which means we'll have to skip the Sunday afternoon historical tour, but that's not a big deal.
Dragging today because the baby was up with her angry new molar at 3am, so I was, too. I didn't really get back to sleep after that, and only managed to finally doze off just before the alarm went off. Ugh. I'll probably just focus on making dinner tonight and try not to push things too much.
