Cooked a perfect London Broil last night. Not to say I enjoyed it, because it was still mostly an exercise in chewing, but M was happy. I made some roasted sweet potatoes and seasoned green beans with it, and I enjoyed those immensely.

Thought I'd be clever and get up early so I could chop the veggies for tonight's stew and get the dishes cleaned up, but it absolutely did not happen. The baby had a very interrupted night and wanted to be cuddled often, and wasn't truly settled until after midnight, so no early wakeup for me.

Planning to do a big grocery run to Sam's tomorrow. M doesn't believe me when I tell him we're out of everything, because when he looks in the freezer he sees stacks of meat, but we have practically nothing to make with all that meat except for cheese and butter, and I don't fancy ending up like Florida Man.

Every little old lady on Rednote wants to teach Americans good recipes, and tells us to eat more vegetables. (There is a general shock/consensus that Americans eat far too few vegetables.) Can't argue with that! Looks like I'll be adding oyster sauce, Shaoxing wine, and dark soy sauce to my grocery list so I can try some of them out.
