Plans for the weekend were derailed Friday night, when we got an email from our storage facility that they were going to begin renovations at the end of the month, and we had three options about it - move all our stuff to a unit (or units) on the lower level, pay them to move all our stuff to the lower level, or break the lease with no fees and move to another facility. I spent most of Saturday morning calling different places in town to see what the current prices were looking like for a unit the same size as we have, and found a Public Storage near us that was $100 cheaper than what we're paying now. So, we have to move all our stuff.

Sunday I was up and ready to start doing stuff, but M slept LATE. By 1:30, I was tired of waiting for him to wake up, and since the baby was down for a nap, I woke him gently and told him that I was going to go finalize the new storage unit.

I ended up at the wrong facility at first. Turns out there are two on the same road - one climate controlled, and one not. I eventually found the climate controlled facility, signed the new lease, and went up to inspect the new unit. The building is gigantic, the sort that you drive up into and there is vehicle storage and parking spots on the first floor. Our unit was on the 2nd floor, and is indeed the same size as ours now, except there is a large pipe running vertically through the back of it. It only takes up a couple of feet, but it is a bit annoying that we weren't told about it.

By the time the lease was signed and I was back home it was about 2:30. M was awake, but miraculously the baby wasn't, so we talked for a bit about the logistics of the move. All of this coming on so suddenly seems to have fried something in M's brain, because he suddenly became very frantic about our savings goals and the cost of this move, and maybe we should have just moved everything within our current facility, and so on. The move will save us money in the long run, so ultimately he'll be chill about it, but right now he absolutely is not.

We have until the 24th to move, so I'm going to chip away at it during the week, and then M and Chance are going to rent a van on Saturday and do a big push over the weekend to get it done. Unfortunately the final weekend to move everything is the same weekend I'm going to be in Navasota, so we have to get everything done this weekend instead.

In other news, I made a big beef stew on Friday night that came out perfectly - perfect seasoning, the meat browned perfectly, perfect thickness - except that the beef was freezer burned. After much boiling, the taste of the stew had mostly gotten rid of the flavor of the freezer, but boy, what an annoyance.

Managed to get a bit of sewing done on Saturday night, and was able to finish up the last few things on the skirt, so it is now officially finished. But, I did some pleating on the fly while attaching the waistband, and now my butt pouf is a bit off center. It's wonky enough to bother me, so I think I'm going to take that part of the waistband off and redo it. I hate to, because I had to hand-sew the whole thing, but I think it will bother me too much if I don't.

I think I need to finally call it quits on FB. I was off it all weekend and checked it for the first time this morning, and the first post on there was a tinfoil hat rant about politics, followed by a post by the EPA in which their nose was firmly up Tr*mp's ass, so yeah, I think I'm done. I will remain on Rednote, happily watching videos of fancy dumplings and answering "Do they do XYZ in America" questions.
